The Town of Slaughterville named after James Slaughter was incorporated as a Town on November 20, 1970. Slaughterville is located southeast of Norman, south of Noble, and north of Lexington and in close proximity to the University of Oklahoma. State Highway 77 crosses through the western edge of the town, where the town hall is located with a population of approximately 4,200. Slaughterville encompasses 24,960 Acres or approximately thirty-nine square miles in south central Cleveland County and is the third largest city in the county by landmass, preceded only by Norman and south Oklahoma City.
