Today, our sixth graders took a walking field trip to Slater Veterans Park to explore the mural in preparation for our upcoming unit on Missouri murals. Students had the opportunity to observe the artwork up close and begin thinking about how murals tell stories, reflect history, and represent a community. It was a beautiful day to get outside, enjoy the sunshine, and explore the artwork!

There will be a meeting for all students interested in playing high school basketball this season and their parents on Wednesday, October 28th, at 6:00 PM in the school cafeteria.

October 9th, 7th grade took a field trip to the National World War I Museum. There was many exciting artifacts to see and many stories were told. Students were also able to go up into the tower if they wanted. A good time was had by all.

On October 6th, 7 students traveled to Fayette to participate in the Mary and Ted Forbes Math and Science Competition on the CMU campus. These two teams competed in both a knowledge and a performance event. There were over 18 teams competing in the 6th - 8th division. They had a great time and did very well with the competition they faced. Congrats!

What a beautiful weekend! I hope you were able to get outside and enjoy the great weather. 🍂🍁

This week is a busy one! We kickoff our CAC JH Basketball Tournament in Cairo on Monday. They will also play on Tuesday and Thursday with times to be determined. We also have our Halloween parties, a costume contest, and parent/teacher conferences. There will be no school on Friday.
