As this dangerous winter storm moves into our area, please be safe out there. As conditions are rapidly deteriorating, please stay home. If you do not need to go out, please don't. Allow the road crews to do their jobs and keep traffic off the roads for our first responders who still need to go out and help those in need.

Today was an emotional day for the EMS community in Montgomery County as the Celebration of Life was held for Dr. Deno Gualtieri. He would have loved the send off with all of the ambulance squads, including a flyover by a JeffStat helicopter, that came to show their respects and honor his legacy. A packed room showed the love of the EMS community for Deno and we hope that the turnout is of some comfort to his family and friends. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. You inspired us to be better, by setting that example. Rest easy, Deno. We'll carry on your legacy and keep that light of yours alive.

Funeral Service Information for Dr. Gualtieri

01/15/2026

We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our Medical Director, Dr. Deno Gualtieri. He has been a steady guidance for our organization and many others in Montgomery County for many years. His passing will leave a hole in EMS that will not be easily filled. He was a mentor, a calm presence in the chaos, offering thoughtful insight and, above all else, a dedicated physician who advocated high-quality patient care. He led by example, inspiring us all to be better providers. As a mentor, his legacy will be felt for many years to come.

We extend our sincerest and deeply felt condolences to his family and friends and all who have had the privilege of working with him. Rest in Peace, Deno. You will be greatly missed.
