What an amazing summer of children’s programming we’ve had! From celebrating America’s 250th … to making paddle boats … to learning all about butterflies … to making cherry pies and more!! Here’s just a few memories - but there’s lots more!

Thank you to the Ephraim Public Library for their partnership on the Door to Summer Adventures programs, to Sister Bay Advancement Association for the use of the old schoolhouse, and to Kaija Johnson, Colin Welford, Sally Collins and so many dedicated SBHS volunteers for bringing these programs to life. We couldn’t do it without you!!!

The Corner of the Past will be opening late on Friday, October 2nd so that our Children's Programming can run their popular Fall Fest event in the morning! Come join in the 1 pm tour to learn more about the history of Sister Bay!

Docent led tours scheduled Tuesday - Friday at 11:00 and 1:00 through next Friday, October 9! October 9 is our final day for this season!!

Thank you again to all for an amazing Harvest Dinner last night at the Thyme / Twelve Eleven Hoop House. Our hearts and our bellies are so full!! Thank you so much to Thyme Restaurant for treating us to a truly delicious meal and to Twelve Eleven for picking just the right wines to compliment Karl's dishes!

Join us this Tuesday, September 22, at 7pm in the Koessl Barn for our final Sister Bay Stories of the season. We'll be a viewing of the new documentary, “Through Fire A Community: The History of the Sister Bay-Liberty Grove Fire Department.” Initiated by late fire chief Chris Hecht five years ago, the project was launched to honor those who built the community fire departments across the peninsula. The video traces the SBLG department’s history from the 1912 fire that gutted the heart of Sister Bay to the modern evolution of the department - honoring the people who built the department, as well as the families and neighbors who stood behind them every step of the way. Maryanne O’Dowd partnered with Chief Hecht on this project, and did substantial research and writing to bring it to completion. The film was narrated by humorist Michael Perry, filmed by Bill Youmans, and produced by Door County Digital.

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, September 19, at our weekly Open Aire Market at the Corner of the Past from 9am to 1pm! You'll find fresh produce (sweet corn, anyone!?), children's books, prepared sauces, local crafts and more!

In addition, local artist Roberta Champeau, will be in the Koessl Barn to talk about her artist grandfather, Otto Vieth. You can see his amazing work inside the barn where his three "Sister Bay - The Vacation Village" billboards proudly hang. And pick up a piece of our merch featuring the artwork too!
