Here is our list of remaining tree stock:

I have lowered the prices...

Ashley will be at the shed tomorrow (Wednesday May 27) 8-2 (or until it is just too hot to be in the shed).

We WILL have a FINAL tree sale on Saturday May 30 8:00-2:00.

In order for speedy service, we ask that you message via Facebook or text 605-949-4202 to place your order based on the items on this sheet... If something is not available, we will let you know before you pick up. Our hope is that we can get everything packaged up for you to pick up vs you waiting to order at the shed.

ALL orders MUST be picked up by Saturday...

If you have ordered and have not picked up your order... please do so by tomorrow or reach out to make arrangements.

We still have things we need to do in the field so we will be in and out as the temps allow for us to work outside. Thursday and Friday are good days to send in orders so we can package them up when we get back to the shed. Remember, if you call and I don't answer PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE.

The temps are getting hotter and not going back down... we are in the midst of summer... planting your trees now can still be successful with the right management and special care... Water is essential in the survival of your trees planted in these hot temps.
Remember... we do not offer a guarantee on trees... and once they leave our cooler they are yours to care for.

That’s an almost wrap on tree season!! We have a couple more sites that need some final touches and a couple that need more “elbow grease”… it’s been a whirlwind season and we are pooped!!

So proud of our crew for the hard push and the long hours!! We created some pretty dang beautiful sites!

Shed hours tomorrow (Friday May 22) 8:00-2:00. Please please please pick up your trees!

There are remaining trees tall and small…
On the conservation grade stock- if you purchase all the remaining stock of that species we will give you the bundle price regardless if there is a bundle or not…

Everyone asks if we will discount the trees… our goal is to not discount the trees (especially the tall bare root)… the margin we make on the trees is meant to keep our operations going. The misconception is that the conservation district is a government entity and receives government funding… we are (it’s a complicated explanation as to how we fit into that category)but we do not. We do not receive county funds, we do not receive direct state funds-we have to apply for funds thru the Conservation Commission and we can be awarded funds for specific projects or purposes, we do not receive direct federal funding- we have to apply for funds and again we can be awarded those funds, we apply for other grants as well and finally we receive funding from the great people of Roberts County when they contract our services or purchase our products. We thank you for your support!!

It takes over 100 years to form just 1 inch of topsoil.🌱📅

This rate depends on several factors, including parent rock material, climate and weathering conditions, organic material accumulation, vegetative cover and land use, and biological activity like worms, fungi, and microbes.

In areas with rich biological activity and moisture, topsoil might form in 100 years. In dry, cold, or heavily disturbed regions, it may take 500 to even 1000 years!

Soil is a living and slowly renewing resource. Protecting what we have is much easier than rebuilding what we lose.

Across South Dakota right now, conservation districts are out planting trees - shelterbelts on the edges of farm fields, native trees along streams, and seedlings in backyards and neighborhoods. It's one of the most rewarding things we do. But here's the thing: planting day is just the beginning. Th...
