The History Club of Sioux Falls

The History Club of Sioux Falls Dedicated to the historic preservation of its clubhouse and historic archives. consulting on the location and aesthetics of the Orpheum Theatre.

Since 1879 The History Club has been involved with and supported hundreds of community service projects in Sioux Falls, including:

co-creating the first lending library. initiating the installation of the Japanese Gardens in Terrace Park and the Sioux River Greenway Trails.

The History Club hosted a screening of the independent film Valentine Crush. Writer and producer, Leah Simmons shared some very interesting details on the making of this movie. It was wonderful to have so many of those involved available to share there insights with us. Who knew there was such a fantastic group of independent film producers in Sioux Falls. Local writer and artist Leah Simmons played roller derby for over a decade before she conceived of the plot for what would eventually become "Valentine Crush".
Synopsis: A roller derby player finds herself in over her head after she meets her self-proclaimed "number one fan". Directed by Jamie Wede. Q & A to follow movie showing with Director Jamie Wede and Writer/Producer Leah Simmons.

Saddle up for a fun evening of food, film, and western flair! Join us for Spaghetti Western Night at the History Club of Sioux Falls.
Enjoy a spaghetti dinner followed by a classic Western movie. Bring your favorite lawn or bag chair for movie time (chairs will also be available).
Western attire encouraged (but not required)
ALL ARE WELCOME - members, friends, and the public!
