Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals, companionship, and support to homebound individuals 60+ in Brandon, Harrisburg, Sioux Falls, and Tea—empowering independent living with dignity while reducing isolation and fostering a caring community. The Adult Nutrition Program is a service of Active Generations, a private non-profit organization in Sioux Falls. The program is supported by the Older
Americans Act, participant and private donations, the state of South Dakota, the Sioux Empire United Way, as well as local fundraising. This program provides a hot, nutritious noon meal to persons age 60 or older who are homebound or otherwise unable to prepare a meal independently. There are also satellite sites in Lincoln, Minnehaha, Turner, McCook, and Union Counties. Please call for more information about these sites. Participating in this program has many benefits for aging adults. They may experience better nourishment, resulting in faster healing, shorter hospital stays, and the ability to remain in their own homes longer.
