Woodbury County Sheriff's Office Beginning with the rough days of the 1850's , thirty-four Sheriff's have served Woodbury County, including the present Sheriff, Chad Sheehan.

The Woodbury County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) has been serving the citizens of Woodbury County by providing a variety of services since it was established in 1853. Fortunately, the passing of the years produced a great improvement over the comparative lawless time when Woodbury County was in its infancy.

We are proud to announce the swearing in today of two new Deputies to the Woodbury County Sheriff's Office. Tanner Pollema joins our Office after serving over 6 years with the Sioux Falls Police Department and Alex Boyle joins our Office after serving over 6 years in Monona County. Both Deputies will begin several weeks of focus training put on by our training staff followed by 4-5 months of field training. Welcome and stay safe!
