The Woodbury County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) has been serving the citizens of Woodbury County by providing a variety of services since it was established in 1853. Fortunately, the passing of the years produced a great improvement over the comparative lawless time when Woodbury County was in its infancy.

The Woodbury County Sheriff's Office was contacted by Tristan Pugi, who is a student from Estonia, attending the TTK University of Applied Sciences, and is working his way through college. Tristan wanted to let the citizens of Woodbury County know that he will be in the county doing door-to-door sales, helping families with education. When Tristan is going door to door, he asks that if you are simply not interested in his products, just let him know, and he will bid you a good day and move on. 📚

The car he is driving is a gray Chevrolet Blazer, plate BCZ829 and it will display ‘Southwestern Advantage’ logos. 🚗

Today we remember and honor Captain Phil Heimbecker and Corporal Jon Herman who were both killed in the line of duty on June 11, 1993.
Both men were killed when their plane crashed shortly after takeoff at the Fort Madison Municipal Airport.
They were transporting a prisoner back to Woodbury County for a murder trial.
Captain Heimbecker served the Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office for 28 years. Corporal Herman served the Sheriff’s Office for 6 years.
Their sacrifice will never be forgotten!
