Sioux Center's community-owned electric utility is considering a small rate increase to keep up with rising costs of wholesale electricity and continue to invest in reliability for Sioux Center. If approved, an average household of four would see a $7 increase this year on monthly utility bills, and a similar increase the following year.
Even with the increase, Sioux Center's rates continue to be among the lower end compared with regional utilities, while continuing to provide homes and businesses with excellent local, reliable service.
