It’s officially hurricane season! Here are the names on deck for the 2026 season.

Remember, it only takes one storm to make it an active season for us. Now is a great time to stock your emergency kit, review your storm plan and evacuation routes, and make sure you have a way to receive weather alerts.

Huge thank you to KIII 3 News for highlighting this incredible example of neighbors helping neighbors. When floodwaters made a road impassable in Papalote, local residents stepped up in a big way — using paddleboards to help transport our linemen so they could safely restore power to members affected by the storm.

We’re proud of our crews for their dedication during difficult conditions, and we’re equally grateful for the community members who jumped in to help however they could. This is what co-op communities are all about. 💙⚡🏄

Thank you again to KIII for sharing this story.

When two linemen with the San Pat Electric Co-op couldn't respond to an area needing service, Papalote residents showed up with their paddleboards ready to help.

RESTORED: Power has been restored. Thank you for your understanding, patience and support. We truly have the best members!

8:15 a.m. Update: All crews are out working to restore power. We have 468 meter outages. Our largest outage is affecting 346 meters in the Oakville and Ray Point areas. We expect to have power restored in this area within an hour.

The remainder of the outages are single-meter or small line sections. Getting to each location takes time, but crews continue working through those outages as quickly and safely as possible.

Flooding and muddy conditions are adding extra challenges to our work today. These challenges may slow down our work, but they don't stop us. Rest assured we will keep going until power has been restored to everyone.

Thank you for all of your support, thoughts and prayers. We appreciate you!

7:20 p.m. UPDATE: Crews continue working to restore power to 67 meters. The largest outage we have is in Beeville, affecting 43 meters. Crews are working on repairs and expect it won’t be too much longer until that outage is restored.

🎓 Congratulations to our 2026 Scholarship Recipients! 🎓

San Patricio Electric Cooperative is proud to invest $100,000 in the future of our communities by awarding scholarships to 10 outstanding local high school seniors pursuing higher education this fall.

These students have demonstrated leadership, academic achievement and a commitment to their communities, and we can’t wait to see all they accomplish in the years ahead.

Storms this week have brought their share of challenges, but also a reminder of the power and unpredictability of the weather we live and work in.

We’re especially grateful for the rain, even as our crews have worked through its impacts in the field. From flooded pastures to damaged lines, our linemen have been out there in all of it—working safely, carefully and with steady determination to restore service for our members.

We’re proud of the people who do this work every day. Our linemen have worked long hours in tough conditions, overcoming setback after setback with determination and teamwork.

Here are a few photos from the field today. Thank you to our members for your continued patience, support and understanding.

⛈️ STORM UPDATE: May 21, 2026 ⛈️

Round three is here. A new severe thunderstorm is pushing through our system this morning, bringing our current outage count to 393 meters. Crews continue working around the clock to restore power.

Between three days of strong storms with relentless lightning causing scattered single-meter outages and incredibly muddy, saturated ground, today is going to be another slow and challenging process. But we are committed to getting your power back on!

We truly appreciate the support, prayers and thoughts you’ve sent our way this week. We know it’s frustrating when you’re out of power. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through the aftermath of these storms.

🔑 Quick Request: Got a gate code? Please make sure we have it on file so our trucks can get to your property without delay.

Behind every restored outage is a crew working long hours, navigating difficult conditions and doing everything they can to safely restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Here are some photos of a few of the things our linemen have encountered in the field over the last couple of days. Work continues to restore power today.

We’re proud of the hard work and dedication of our linemen, contractors and entire support team have shown through these storms.

And we can’t thank our members enough for all the prayers, thoughts and support! We know it’s not easy to be without power, but y’all are still showing us so much love. We appreciate you!
