was chartered in 1937 by a group of rural Americans who truly exemplified the pioneer spirit. From the originally signed members, the Cooperative has evolved some 75 years later into a Cooperative that serves more than 7,200 customers and more than 10,000 meters. Your Cooperative serves San Patricio, Live Oak, Bee, Refugio, McMullen, Jim Wells, Goliad, Aransas, and Nueces counties.

Today is the last day to cast your vote in the SPEC Board of Directors' Election!

You can vote online until 5 p.m. using the unique election credentials that were mailed and emailed to you ➡️ https://www.directvote.net/SPEC/

Results of the election will be announced at our Member Appreciation Event and Annual Meeting on September 10. We hope to see you there!

One of the best changes to our Annual Meeting this year is an upgrade to the menu! We're excited to serve a delicious meal from Fathead's BBQ, featuring their chopped brisket sandwiches.

To help us ensure we have enough food for everyone, each registered SPEC member may receive up to four BBQ meal tickets for themselves and their guests in attendance. Meal tickets will be distributed at registration.

And because we know the classics are hard to beat, our partners at Texas Electric Cooperatives will also be onsite with a food trailer offering hot dogs and hamburgers. Meal tickets are not required at this station.

It's just one of the ways we're saying thank you for being a member. So come hungry and stick around for everything else we've cooked up for our Member Appreciation Event & Annual Meeting!

Our Touch-a-Truck experience is getting an extra dose of excitement! We're excited to welcome HALO-Flight to our Member Appreciation Event & Annual Meeting.

If the helicopter isn't needed for an emergency response that evening, HALO-Flight plans to bring the aircraft for members to see up close. You'll have the chance to check out the helicopter, meet the crew and learn more about the lifesaving work they do across South Texas.

Of course, emergencies come first—so we'll keep our fingers crossed that the helicopter can stay parked with us for the evening!

It's another chance to meet the people who serve our community and get an up-close look at the equipment they use every day.

Voting is open now through 5 p.m. on September 2. You can cast your vote by mail or online at https://www.directvote.net/SPEC/

At San Patricio Electric Cooperative, our roots run deep in the community. And we believe being a good neighbor starts with providing you with safe, reliable electric service.

Our tree trimming-program is a key part of our everyday effort to do just that. Vegetation management helps protect our members, employees and the electric system.

If you spot Pannell Co. crews working along our power lines, don’t be surprised — they’re our new tree trimming partner!

Pannell Co. specializes in vegetation management and will be working systematically throughout our service territory to help keep trees and brush safely away from power lines.

Here’s what you can expect when crews are working in your area:

🌳 High-voltage lines: Trees will be trimmed 12 feet above and below the line and 10 feet to either side.
🌿 Low-voltage lines: Vegetation will be trimmed within a 5-foot radius of the line.
⚡ Around power poles: A 5-foot radius will be cleared from the ground up.
🚛 Cleanup: Crews will remove trimmed limbs and brush within seven days.
✉️ Contact: We'll give you a heads up when crews will be working in your area. Just make sure we have your email address on file.
