This unique incident wasn’t quite on the agenda for today. Quickly stabilizing the incident, and several minds developing a good plan led to a successful outcome. Huge shout out to local government agencies who sent resources to help with this.

Cardiac Arrest Survivor

On December 6th, 2025, one of SCEMS crews along with Simpsonville Fire and Rescue responded to a call for chest pain. While crews were on scene and performing an assessment, the patient became unresponsive and pulseless. CPR was initiated along with airway management and medication administration. The patient was in a shockable rhythm and defibrillated by our crew. The patient was rapidly transported to the hospital and prior to arrival, ROSC (Return Of Spontaneous Circulation) was achieved.

The patient has since been discharged from the hospital with no neurological deficits.

We are incredibly proud and thankful for our crews and responders for their hard work, determination, and commitment to patient care!
