🚨 TORNADO RISK UPGRADED

The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded much of the area to a Level 2 tornado risk for tonight as the core of the storm system is now expected to track very near the I-85 corridor.

I’ll be watching closely for rotating thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

It’s important to remember that I share this information to prepare you, not scare you. Most of us will simply experience rain and thunderstorms, but a few storms could become severe and capable of producing a tornado.

🌪️ Have a way to receive warnings today and tonight.
📱 Keep your phone nearby.
⚠️ Pay attention if a warning is issued for your area.

This is not a major tornado outbreak, but it is a setup that deserves respect and close monitoring.

As always, I’ll be tracking every storm and will keep you posted the moment anything turns severe.

Last week all 3 shifts participated in our quarterly burn training. This quarters training focused on VES tactics, ground ladders, and victim removal. Thank you to Belmont Fire Department for letting us use your training grounds and to Craig Williams, Chad Myers, Justin Carter, Cameron Alley, and Kyle Traxler for helping run training. A special shout out to West Broad Apparel Company for the photos.

Last week Rescue Crews performed their quarterly Rescue training at First Baptist Church. Crews were tasked with getting a simulated injured patient from inside the steeple to the ground using a mixture of ropes and ladder operations.
