🌾Fun Fact Friday | Simonton Edition🌾

Did you know?
Simonton was once known for commercial potato farming in the early 1900s! Farmers shipped potatoes nationwide by rail … making agriculture a major part of the local economy! At it’s peak, hundreds of railroad cars loaded with red potatoes grown right here in Simonton were sent to cities like Chicago, Kansas City, and Cincinnati. The area even became one of the leading potato producing regions in the country! 🥔
