The City of Silverton has issued a routine Level 1 Water Conservation Alert in accordance with Resolution No. 26-10 to help conserve water during the summer season.

The Level 1 conservation period runs from June 1 through October 31 unless conditions require moving into a Level 2 or higher. During this time, residents and businesses are asked to voluntarily reduce water use by 5%.

Simple actions can make a big difference:
• Water lawns no more than twice per week
• Water early morning or evening
• Check for leaks
• Reduce indoor water use
• Limit non-essential water use

Thank you for helping protect Silverton’s water supply this summer. Learn more on the City’s Water Conservation webpage or contact City Hall at (503) 873-5321.

We’ve had a busy week, Silverton! From ribbon cuttings to parades, what makes Silverton stand out most is our community spirit. Last Saturday’s Pet Parade and Paws in the Park events were a perfect reminder of that.

From the community groups, volunteers, and local partners who help bring these events to life, to everyone who came out to celebrate with their pets, neighbors, friends, and families, thank you for making the day such a success.

We loved seeing the creativity, smiles, wagging tails, and community pride throughout the day. Thank you for celebrating with us, Silverton!

We’re looking forward to all of our upcoming community events. Visit the Silverton Chamber of Commerce’s community calendar for the full summer event lineup.

At their last meeting, the Silverton City Council officially proclaimed May 17-23, 2026 as Public Works Week in the City of Silverton.

Public Works professionals play a vital role in keeping our community running every day, from maintaining streets and infrastructure to supporting water systems, public facilities, and essential services that protect public health and safety.

As we recognize the 66th annual National Public Works Week, we want to thank the dedicated employees, engineers, managers, and crews who work behind the scenes to serve our community and help make Silverton a great place to live, work, and visit.

Please join us in celebrating and thanking our Public Works team for the important work they do every day.

We were proud to celebrate the completion of the Westfield Site Improvements Project with a ribbon cutting on Friday, May 15!

This $2.2 million investment transforms the Westfield Park Complex into a connected recreational hub for our community, featuring new pickleball courts, redesigned dog parks, improved accessibility, expanded parking with 47 additional spaces, ADA-accessible restrooms, seating areas, and stronger pedestrian connections throughout the site.

More than just new amenities, this project creates a place where neighbors can gather, families can make memories, and residents of all ages can stay active and connected.

Thank you to the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department for their partnership and the $750,000 Local Government Grant that helped make these improvements possible, as well as our project partners, City staff, and everyone who joined us in celebrating this exciting milestone for our community.

Westfield Park Complex is a lasting investment in Silverton’s parks system and in the future of our community. We look forward to seeing everyone enjoy it for years to come!

This week is National Police Week, and the City of Silverton would like to recognize and thank the men and women of the Silverton Police Department for their continued service, professionalism, and commitment to our community.

Day and night, our officers answer difficult calls, respond in moments of crisis, build relationships within the community, and work hard to keep Silverton a safe place to live, work, and visit. While much of their work happens behind the scenes, their dedication does not go unnoticed.

Throughout Police Week, our community showed incredible support through meals, baked goods, challenge coins, kind words, and thoughtful gestures of appreciation. These acts of kindness served as a meaningful reminder of the strong connection between our department and the community we are proud to serve.

To the officers, dispatchers, support staff, and families who stand behind them, thank you for your sacrifice, your compassion, and your service to Silverton. We are grateful for everything you do. 💙
