Census 2020: Rural and mountain communities across Colorado face particular challenges in getting an accurate count due to lack of mail delivery to physical addresses and in some areas lack of internet service. The Department of Local Affairs' (DOLA) Census Outreach Grant program will provide grants to local governments, intergovernmental agencies, councils of government, housing authorities, school districts, and nonprofit organizations to support the accurate counting of the population of the state for the 2020 census. Outdoor Recreation Industry in the State has an economic impact of $62.5 billion and supports 511,000 jobs

The Outdoor Retailer summer show at the Colorado Convention Center this week highlights the breadth and scope of the outdoor recreation industry in the state. The industry's economic impact has risen from $34 billion in 2013 to $62.5 billion in 2017, according to a report issued last year. That is about 10 percent of the state's total gross domestic product. The industry supports 511,000 jobs, which is a fifth of the state's workforce. - Denver Post, 06.18.19

This week, Colorado is hosting the Outdoor Retailer, the country’s premier industry trade show. The summer show runs Tuesday through Thursday at the Colorado Convention Center.

NWCCOG has released the June 2019 Regional Quarterly Economic Update. Jobs in the region increased 2.6% (Q4 2017 to Q4 2018). Annual Average Wage in the region: Eagle County: $49,140 (+2.9%); Grand County: $37,648 (+3.7%); Jackson County: $42,484 (+10.6%); Pitkin County: $57,772 (+3.0%); Summit County: $42,588 (+3.0%).
