The house sits in the middle of six side by side lots extending the full 270'(+-) from 1st street to 2nd Street facing North on the South side of Silverhill Avenue. The lots are 125' deep will a full alleyway in the rear. The 2 lots on the West side of the house do not appear on this survey because they are a separate piece of property (for tax purposes only). The property is 1 acre more or less. Covanents and restrictions of the Town of Silverhill require two lots for building. They also require a 25' setback on the front and either street side of the property. The rear setback is 5'. The out building at the rear of the property sits on the property line at the rear boundary and is "grandfathered" because it was constructed originally as a small photo darkroom in the 1920's and expanded into the larger pole barn now existing sometime before 1950. There is now a 16'x32' pool on the west side of the house and the carport is now a master suite with bath and office. The entire property is fenced and cross fenced.

This photo is from 1910 and shows both residents standing in front of the house. The road (Silverhill Avenue) is not yet developed. The document is the original deed from the Lundblad family to Charles Gustafson. As a male I admire the practice of awarding a dowery to the groom as compensation for marrying the bride.

The story as I have been able to discern over the years is that the Lundblad family actually built the house and situated it on 10 acres of farmland in the town of Silverhill, Alabama 25 miles or so north of the Gulf Coast more or less on a line between Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida. Hilma, a Lunblad daughter, was given in marriage to one Charles Gustafson around the time the house was completed and he was consequently presented the deed for the entire property apparently in appreciation for accepting her hand. This deed appears in this page.
