Recently, our 5th-grade neighborhood students had an unforgettable experience at Camp Seymour! Students enjoyed a wide variety of exciting activities, including archery, the opportunity to hold reptiles like turtles, campfires, and owl pellet/squid dissections. Some of our students even wrote their names using the squid ink!
One of the most special parts of camp was staying in cabins with friends, building independence, strengthening friendships, and creating lifelong memories together. We are so proud of our students for trying new things, learning outside the classroom, and making the most of this amazing outdoor education experience!

Mrs. Zednick and Mrs. Jennings’ classes lovingly cared for caterpillars each day while learning about the butterfly life cycle along the way. From tiny eggs, to hungry caterpillars, to chrysalises hanging tight, they watched their butterflies emerge and soar into the sunlight!
What a wonderful way to learn, grow, and explore the magic of nature! 🌿

Our students in Mrs. Crawford’s class recently had an amazing time attending F.A.R.M. Days at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds!
F.A.R.M. Days (Fun Adventures, Real Memories) is a special annual event held each May that celebrates inclusion and creates meaningful experiences for children and families from local school districts across Kitsap, Thurston, and Pierce counties.
Students enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities, including horse rides, visiting the petting zoo with sheep, goats, and mini cows, hay rides through the fairgrounds woods, roping demonstrations, snow cones, bubble machines, and even appearances by children’s authors who promote inclusion and kindness.
The smiles, laughter, and memories made during this wonderful event truly lived up to its name—Fun Adventures, Real Memories! We are so thankful to everyone who helped make this experience possible for our students.

On Thursday, May 7, we recognized our retiring employees at Central Kitsap High School, and it was truly an event to remember! We were especially happy to celebrate our own Silver Ridge retiree, Catherine Townsend, alongside all of this year’s honorees. Congratulations and best wishes to all our retirees!

Thank you to our amazing PTA for a week filled with delicious treats, thoughtful gifts, and wonderful lunches during Educator Appreciation Week! Your kindness and generosity truly shone through, making every teacher and staff member feel so valued and appreciated.

A big shout-out to PTA members Christina, Chelsea, Francine, Marie, Rebecca, Rachel, Jennifer, Desiree, and Etha for beautifully decorating the teachers’ room with fun 90’s-style vibes and for coordinating an unforgettable week of celebrations! Your time, effort, and attention to every detail did not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for all you did to make this week so special.

We are truly blessed to be part of such a supportive and caring community here at Silver Ridge!

Join us for the Silver Ridge PTA McTakeover! Next Wednesday, May 13, from 5–7 PM, come visit the Silverdale McDonald’s on Silverdale Way for a fun evening supporting Silver Ridge PTA!

Teachers and staff will be there to assist with your food orders and even help in the drive-through.

We hope to see you there for great food, fun, and community support!

As we celebrate Educator Appreciation Week, we’re taking time to honor the amazing teachers and paraeducators who make a difference in the lives of our students each and every day. Their impact reaches far beyond academics — they encourage creativity, build meaningful connections, and help every child feel supported, confident, and valued at school. We are so thankful for the compassion, patience, and dedication our educators bring to our school community every day.

We also want to give a huge thank you to our incredible PTA for making this week extra special! From transforming the staff lounge into a fun 90’s-themed celebration filled with Lisa Frank colors, Clueless and Saved by the Bell nostalgia, and grunge-inspired vibes, to providing daily treats for our staff, they have gone above and beyond to help us celebrate our wonderful educators in such a memorable way.
