The KCAR office will be closed today—Thursday, June 19th—to celebrate the end of slavery in the United States! On June 19, 1865, news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached Galveston, Texas, and 250,000 slaves were freed.

Last week, KCAR President Linda J Wood commented at the Board of County Commissioners meeting on behalf of KCAR, urging them to vote no on the proposed Boundary Line Adjustment ordinance. Watch the video to hear Linda’s comments. She was joined by several other members of KCAR, including board members and past presidents, former REALTORS and others from the real estate and building communities, who all made similar comments asking the Commissioners to put a stop to onerous regulatory layers to a simple process. You may have seen our calls for action on this matter.

The REALTOR voice has moved the needle on this issue, but we’re not done yet!! Help us get this past the finish line and email the Board of County Commissioners at [email protected] and let them know that REALTORS oppose the proposed BLA code revisions.
