A brushfire in Seabeck is now under control after burning an area approximately 40’x20’ in size.
Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue crews were dispatched at 2:55 this afternoon to the area of NW Indian Ridge Road in Bremerton.
A homeowner burning in her backyard thought the fire was out, but unfortunately it was not and spread into the forest behind her home.
This is good time to review a few safety reminders:
* Keep fires small and manageable, not to exceed 10x10 in size.
* Maintain 50 feet from structures/property lines.
* Stay with fire until fully out, ensuring the fire is completely extinguished.
* Keep water and tools on hand.
