Happy New Year!
The 2026 CSMC Fall Concert is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 7:00 pm at our regular venue, the Calvary Lutheran Church, 9545 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring MD (just inside the Beltway). All CSMC members are hereby invited to submit original compositions for performance at this concert.
Notice of intent to submit music for this concert should be received by our Concertmaster ([email protected]) not later than March 31, 2026 if you need us to provide musicians, by April 17, 2026 if you are providing your own musicians.
This notice should include the following information:
-the name of the piece (can be tentative);
-its approximate duration (in minutes);
-its general character;
-the musical forces required; and
-whether you plan to supply the musicians (critical).
Please note that CSMC is now accepting pieces for repeat performance that were previously premiered at a CSMC concert prior to 2017.
Once you have submitted a composition (on time), you should assume it WILL BE in the concert. In the unlikely event that some problem arises (e.g. too much music), we will notify you promptly. Similarly, if a problem arises at your end after submission, please inform us promptly. If you are late in either your notice or your score/parts, you may still be included, but there are no guarantees; we will keep you posted on status.
P.S. Remember that to be played at this concert you must have paid your 2025-2026 dues. To do so, please send a check for $30 made out to "CSMC" to our Treasurer (address to be provided upon request)
Finally, if you are a composer in good standing of CSMC, we would like to include your picture as well as a link to your bio and a website or other link where your music can be found. Please contact us if you are interested in being on the website (www.csmcmusic.org).
