From the first serve in the fall… to the final out in the spring… what a year to be an Eagle. 🦅
This is Eagle Excellence. ❤️💛
Silver Lake may have the best girls athletic program in Kansas this school year.
The Eagles completed a rare 3A Triple Crown, winning state championships in volleyball, basketball and softball during the 2025-26 school year.
Under Sarah Johnson, Silver Lake captured the 3A State Volleyball Championship in the fall. In the winter, Kyle Porter guided the Eagles to the 3A State Basketball Championship. On Saturday, Nick Hamilton and Silver Lake softball finished the job, bringing home the 3A State Softball Championship.
What makes the accomplishment even more impressive is the depth and parity throughout Kansas Class 3A. Each sport begins with a loaded field of 64 teams, and Silver Lake found a way to finish on top in all three seasons.
The success wasn’t limited to girls sports, either.
Silver Lake baseball advanced all the way to the 3A State Championship Game, finishing as state runner-up, while the Eagles boys basketball team placed third at the 3A State Tournament.
State championships in volleyball, basketball and softball. A state runner-up finish in baseball. A third-place finish in boys basketball.
Few schools anywhere can match the all-around success Silver Lake enjoyed during the 2025-26 school year. From fall to spring, the Eagles were a model of consistency, excellence and championship culture.
An incredible year for one of Kansas’ premier athletic programs.
