I face a conundrum: my usually overly-bountiful fig tree has only had a handful of figs go from the hard, round, large , green stage to the huge PURPLE delicious stage!

So...my queston is: Do only wasp- fertilized figs mature into purple ripe fruit, leaving the unfertilized figs to remain green & hard until frost kills whatever was green?? If that is the case, I would say there are noticably less wasps than in prior years.

Here is an etched-glass recumbent n**e I did that was hanging at Javalina when it was on the NW corner of Bullard and Broadway. It is almost life sized and is part of the Cassie Health Center collection now.

The gestures and body-language of " Girls on the Boardwalk" make us know that something delightful and somewhat private is being shared by this trio of friends as they descend onto the beach. If you think it is hard to paint one person, know that it is even more challenging to depict several figures, especially when they are intertwinned. John's command of the gestures of the human form, the female form , is on display in this painting from John's late Work...from 1970-1991. The girls look like they are from the70s...bell-bottoms, mini-skirts and granny gowns adorn the winsome friends who share a private giggle.

Tomorrow, Dec. 8 & Dec. 9 are the last days to see the John Stermer retrospective at WNMU's McCray Gallery. Hours are 12-6 tomorrow ( for after-work viewing ) & 12-2 on Thursday. Almost the entire exhibit has been sold! Much $$ for the U! I'd love to see the "3 Girls" go to a business or an individual that advocates for female empowerment. It sends a beautiful message about the shared joys of female friends.

They will always be LAUGHING! God knows we could use more of that!

FYI:

Here is a work in progress .The design is complete and cut into the resist and the vitroblock awaits the sandblaster. The backlit simulation gives some idea of the light/dark areas of the composition, but the Sandblasted Glass Block is durable and ready for a place inside or out. I'm ready to sign it. My new art-name is going to be:

Geizler. So people will know how to pronounce AND spell it!
