IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT...
The Board of Directors and members of Friends of Tettegouche State Park announce that they voted at the annual meeting on September 17th to dissolve the organization. The decision is due to many factors including lack of new members and volunteers.
We want to acknowledge the many contributions and support you all have given the organization over the 7 years of active service. We are proud of all the ways together we have met the mission of the organization.
Many exciting and long-lasting projects have been accomplished with the help and guidance of Friends’ members, the state park naturalist and other key staff of the state park. These include the planting of several trees in the park, creation of the outstanding Tettegouche Nature Play Area, and Trail Stewards volunteer program.
Additionally, several members have supported naturalist programs at the park, hosted Artist Receptions for rotating artist exhibitions, written grants and coordinated summer concerts in the park, help fund and staff the Winterfest event, and led the Park Scavenger Hunt activity. It was decided that our remaining funds will be designated towards the ongoing maintenance of the Nature Play Area.
We hope you and your friends will continue to visit and sign up with park staff to volunteer to help sustain this wonderful state park we have in our community. We’ll see you at the park!
