We are in need of mature Christian volunteers at the Manna Center. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, I have listed and explained our areas of need. Client Advisor- This position works directly with the clients. They interview and assess the needs of each individual as they talk with them one on one. Volunteers need to have basic computer skills. Volunteers will receive tra
ining for this position. Volunteers can work as little as one day a month or the same day every week. We plan and schedule the workers one month in advance. Receptionist-This position is important because they have the first contact with the client. They give out the applications to be completed and pull the old files from the file cabinet. The volunteer would also answer the telephone and keep the lobby area straight. They take completed applications to our client advisors as they are turned in. They have the same hours as the client advisor. Food Pantry- The volunteers in this area are up and on the move most of the time. They fill the orders for the clients much like shopping from a list at the grocer. They also stock the shelves, bag up items into smaller packages, and weigh any food that may come in for donation. This person may have to lift boxes and carry food out to the client’s car. It is a great area to work in if you want to help but not be directly involved with the client. Clothing- Our Manna Center store is much like any other store. We are in need of people to take care of customers at the counter to check out and also keep the clothing straightened. These people need to be good with the public and dependable. There is a laundry room at the back of the store where all clothing is cleaned and prepared for the sales floor. This is where we need someone to iron the clothing. The hours for the clothing workers are different than the office workers and the food pantry. The volunteer has a choice of two different times, 9-1 or 1-5. We do like you to come in early for our prayer time at 8:55 but it is not mandatory. The person closing will have to stay after 5 and do a walk-through of the building making sure all doors are locked and the building secure. There will always be two people to do this at closing.
