Chatham County African-American Caucus Welcome to the Chatham County African American Caucus page! We’re glad you’re here—stay connected, get involved, and help us build a stronger community.

The purpose of the CCDP African-American Caucus is to achieve full and meaningful representation of African Americans at every level and in all activities of the Democratic Party. To fulfill this mission, our objectives are:

To actively support the Democratic Party at the local, state, and national levels;

To ensure that issues impacting the African American community are effectively communicated to the Democratic Party, and that the Party’s positions on those issues are clearly conveyed to the African American community;

To take informed and appropriate public positions on matters of importance to the African American community;

To encourage and support African Americans in seeking public office and participating in delegate selection, committee work, and Democratic Party conventions and organizations at all levels;

To collaborate with the North Carolina Democratic Party Executive Committee;

To assist in the formation, development, and sustainability of active African American Caucuses at the district and state levels;

To promote broad political engagement and civic participation among African Americans;

To work toward the election of Democratic candidates; and

To develop and implement programs and initiatives that support the election of strong Democratic candidates in Siler City, North Carolina.
