The purpose of the CCDP African-American Caucus is to achieve full and meaningful representation of African Americans at every level and in all activities of the Democratic Party. To fulfill this mission, our objectives are:
To actively support the Democratic Party at the local, state, and national levels;
To ensure that issues impacting the African American community are effectively communicate
d to the Democratic Party, and that the Party’s positions on those issues are clearly conveyed to the African American community;
To take informed and appropriate public positions on matters of importance to the African American community;
To encourage and support African Americans in seeking public office and participating in delegate selection, committee work, and Democratic Party conventions and organizations at all levels;
To collaborate with the North Carolina Democratic Party Executive Committee;
To assist in the formation, development, and sustainability of active African American Caucuses at the district and state levels;
To promote broad political engagement and civic participation among African Americans;
To work toward the election of Democratic candidates; and
To develop and implement programs and initiatives that support the election of strong Democratic candidates in Siler City, North Carolina.
