According to the American Medical Association, “far too few Americans know how to perform CPR, so when people experience heart attacks in public, or in their homes, often there is simply no one around who knows how to help them. And with each minute that passes, the chances of surviving a heart attack decline. In fact, only about one in 10 cardiac arrest patients survive.”
The SHVFD Community Auxiliary aims to better educate and prepare members of its Hope Fire District and beyond by sponsoring CPR Training. “We’re excited to kick off our space in the community with this CPR training,” says Barb Sost, organizer for the SHVFD Auxiliary. “We’ve got a lot of great ideas for community involvement coming up, so I hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity and others to come.”
