Sweet and a little bittersweet!
One of our favorite parts of the Good Student Club Party is getting to welcome students into the office and spend time building relationships with them over the years. We love celebrating not only their hard work in school, but also their kindness, character, and the effort they put into being a good friend to others.
It bittersweet as we say goodbye to our fifth graders moving on to middle school. It has been such a joy watching them grow over the years, and we are so proud of each and every one of them!
A huge thank you to the parents who bring their children to the party and support them along the way. We are grateful to be a small part of their journey.

Happy Birthday to Victoria!

Since starting at the Clothes House in 2014 and becoming manager in 2017, Victoria has worked tirelessly to make the Clothes House a welcoming and fun place where everyone loves to shop! Her creativity, dedication, and caring spirit shine through in everything she does.

When she’s not at the Clothes House, Victoria loves spending time with her family and her two granddaughters, enjoying all things Disney, and creating beautiful handmade creations.

We are so thankful for all she does for our community and hope she has the happiest birthday!

Mountain Ministries has sprung into action this spring!

We are so grateful for our partnership and the incredible work their team continues to do for members of our community. They recently completed replacing a gentleman’s deck, helping make his home safer and more accessible.

One of the best parts was seeing the homeowner able to pitch in by painting the house himself. There is something so meaningful about neighbors coming together and homeowners being part of the process too.

This year’s end-of-the-school-year Good Student Club Party had a FIN-tastic shark theme!

Over the course of a few days, students get to come in and “shop” for toys, puzzles, games, art supplies, candy, stickers, sweet treats, and other fun items. Students receive a sweet note from their teacher, a summer camp, and their required summer reading books to help keep learning going all summer long.

Students also love visiting our make-and-take craft section, where they can create something special to bring home. One of the highlights of the party is taking a fun Polaroid picture in front of the themed backdrop, a memory they get to keep after the party is over!

This special event takes many volunteers, donations, and helping hands to make possible. We are so thankful for the incredible support of our community and everyone who helps make these moments so meaningful for our students.

Signal Mountain Social Services is proud to support education and career growth in our community. The SMSS Scholarship is available to individuals who live in the 37377 Zip Code, who are experiencing a financial barrier, and are working toward continuing their education.
This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors planning to attend a traditional college, community college, or trade school, as well as adults in our community who have decided to return to school or pursue a trade or career training program.
At SMSS, we believe it’s never too early, or too late to invest in education. Whether you are graduating this year or taking a brave step back into the classroom later in life, we want to support you as you work toward your goals!
Education and skill-building strengthen individuals, families, and our entire community.

A huge shoutout to all of the amazing volunteers helping prep for our Good Student Club school year celebration party!
This year’s shark theme was so much fun for our elementary students as they came together to celebrate all of their hard work throughout the school year. Events like these take a lot of planning, decorating, organizing, and preparation and we truly could not do it without our wonderful volunteers.
Thank you for giving your time, energy, and creativity to help make this event special for our kids. We are so grateful for each of you!

Happy birthday to Marissa Stockburger, our financial administrator at SMSS. Not only does she take care of all things financial for us, she also loves to thrift and volunteers her time at The Clothes House when she can. When she’s not working or thrifting, you’ll find her walking her dog, reading books, and hanging out with her family. She’s a great teammate with her easy going personality and financial insights. We appreciate you, Marissa, and hope you have an awesome birthday!
