SML OFFERS CUSTOM DECALS FOR SALE

Last week's announcement of our new online Signal Story Stations map generated such interest that we've decided to follow up with a fun promotion. You may have noticed that the map's web page (https://signalmountainlibrary.com/sss/) comes complete with a snazzy logo; this was designed by local graphic artist Alden Hawkins of Mountain Originals. We also asked a second artist, Katie Spitaletto of Signal Souvenirs, to design a different logo—this one trolley-themed. Then we had both designs made into high-quality three-inch round decals. (The trolley comes in two versions, black-on-white and white-on-black.)

To honor our fine homegrown talent, we're offering these decals to our patrons for only one dollar each (cash or check only) while supplies last. Also, if you're the proud superintendent of a Signal Story Station, we'll even give you one for free. Just ask at the library's circulation desk.

SML UNVEILS SIGNAL STORY STATIONS MAP

Way back in November, we asked you to send us the locations of all the Signal Story Stations you've seen around town so we could create an online map. What are Signal Story Stations? They're those small boxes on posts filled with free books you can share with your friends and neighbors.

Well, we've finally completed our map and posted it on our website:

Not exactly the fanciest web page you've ever seen—but we hope the information proves both useful and fun. The map can be updated, so if you spot a Station that's not included, feel free to let someone at the library know.

SML BOOK NOOK HOLDS QUARTER SALE (2/25)

On Wednesday, February 25 (that's the twenty-fifth day of the month, y'all), from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. the Signal Mountain Library Book Nook will hold a one-day-only quarter sale during which every item in our inventory will go for just twenty-five cents each. Hardbacks! Paperbacks! CDs! DVDs! All one quarter of a dollar.

SML INTRODUCES ELECTRONIC PAYMENT OPTION

Starting today (Monday, February 23) the Signal Mountain Library will begin offering our patrons the option to pay fines, out-of-town annual membership fees, passport fees, and notary fees electronically using Square. For the time being, Friends of the Library payments (Book Nook purchases, promotional sales like tote bags, donations, etc.) will continue to be cash or check only. Although this upgrade does not yet include online payments, we hope to move in that direction as soon as possible.

As with any such addition, we expect to encounter a learning curve, so please be patient as everyone on our staff explores the new system and all of its marvelous features.
