These folks are truly heroes, and a life was saved thanks to their professionalism, expertise, and rapid response. I had the privilege to honor each them with a Unit Citation pin at last night’s Council meeting. Thank you to these outstanding individuals and all who serve our community!

My heart goes out to the young man who tragically lost his life today hiking at Signal Point. I offer my prayers and deepest condolences to his family and friends who are mourning.

A special thank you to our amazing first responders and mutual aid partners who acted quickly, bravely, and professionally to help recover the victim.

Springtime is a great time of year to enjoy our beautiful environment, but please remember to act safely and cautiously in nature, on trails, and around cliffs.

Thank you Signal Mountain Fire Department, Signal Mountain Police Department, Waldens Ridge Emergency Service, Chattanooga Fire Department, and Hamilton County EMS.

On Monday, the Council honored the Grahams and the Hagoods for their service at the MACC. As the Town assumes operational responsibility for the MACC, I am grateful for Dick and Cheryl’s hard work and dedication to preservation and programming over the past four-and-a-half years. The MACC is a special place, and it is what it is today thanks in large part to their vision and initiative. I’m also thankful to the many volunteers and donors who gave so much time, energy, and resources in service of the Town and its residents. We owe you all a debt of gratitude.

The future of the MACC is bright, and we look forward to building upon the strong foundation.

A happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026 from our family to yours. Happy New Year, Signal Mountain!
