📚 Leadership Academy – Registration Open
• Applications are open through August 13
• Four-part workshop series designed to give residents an inside look at City government and community initiatives
• Open to Signal Hill residents ages 18 and older (space is limited)
• Register on the City website

🚨 CERT Training Coming Soon
• The Los Angeles County Fire Department will host the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course in partnership with the Signal Hill Police Department
• Interested participants can complete the interest form on the City website
• Stay tuned for course dates and additional information

Looking for a chance to learn more about your City and get involved? 📚🏛️

Join the City of Signal Hill for the 2026 Leadership Academy 2 Level Up, an engaging four-part workshop series designed to give residents, stakeholders, and community partners an inside look at how the City implements its Strategic Plan into action.

Connect with City staff, local organizations, and fellow residents while learning how City government works and how it impacts your neighborhood.

📅 Wednesdays, September 23 – October 27, 2026
⏰ 6:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. (approximately)
This follow-up series is open to previous Leadership Academy participants who live in Signal Hill.

🏳️‍🌈 Commemorating LGBTQ+ Pride and Social Movements, the Pride Flag recognizes and celebrates Harvey Milk Day and the many contributions of the LGBTQ+ community.

Join the Signal Hill Public Library for special Pride Month programs (18+):

📚 LGBTQIA+ Book Club
🗓 First Tuesday of each month until September 1
⏰ 6:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.

Participants receive a copy of the selected book, featuring LGBTQIA+ authors, characters, and topics. Books alternate between fiction and nonfiction titles. Pre-registration and a library card are required to receive a copy of the book.

The next discussion will be held on July 7 and will feature A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers. (All ages)
