Unused or expired medications can be dangerous if left around the home. The Sidney-Shelby County Health Department encourages everyone to safely dispose of medications using Deterra Drug Deactivation Pouches.

Deterra is a simple, safe, and science-backed way to deactivate pills, patches, liquids, creams, and films right at home. Simply place medications in the pouch, add warm water, seal, shake, and place in the trash.

Safe medication disposal helps prevent misuse, accidental poisoning, and environmental harm. Together, we can help keep our families and community safe. 💊🗑️

Deterra pouches are available in our Harm Reduction Vending Machine located outside in front of the Sidney-Shelby County Health Department while supplies last.
