Our neighbors in Kimball County are preparing for the 4th Annual Hometown Veterans Walk, led by Jason Hanner, on September 24–25, 2026.

🇺🇸This 37.5-mile walk brings veterans, families, supporters, and community members together to raise awareness for some of the invisible wounds our veterans may carry, including:
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Military Sexual Trauma (MST)
• Veteran su***de

The walk begins at the Wyoming/Nebraska state line near Pine Bluffs and continues across Kimball County. Participants will also take part in the Kimball Farmer’s Day Parade on September 26.

You don’t have to be a veteran to participate. Whether you walk a few miles, join for a portion of the route, or simply come out to show your support, this is an opportunity to stand alongside our veteran community and help bring awareness to issues that too often go unseen.

Crawford Serving Humanities is thrilled to host America's Freedom Tribute over September 9-12, 2026. Their 80% replica wall of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and their Cost of Freedom Tribute will be on display at the Crawford Ball Fields, offering the "community with an incredible opportunity to pay RESPECT to our veterans, HONOR the fallen, and REMEMBER the sacrifice made by so many in service of our great country," as America's Freedom Tribute so beautifully describes it.

As area students prepare to head back to school within the next couple of weeks, our office is honored to help support the children of local veteran families.

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor in Sidney, assistance is available for back-to-school needs such as:

🚌 Bus passes
📘 Other essential school-related items

If you're a veteran with school-aged children and could use a little extra help this school year, please reach out! We're here to support those who have served and that includes their families.

The Cheyenne County Fair & Rodeo is having their 1st Responders Night, tomorrow, July 21.

Come in uniform or show ID and receive free admission and drink to the Monster Truck Bash.

🇺🇸🚨 MILITARY, VETERANS & 1ST RESPONDERS NIGHT 🚨🇺🇸

Join us Wednesday, July 22 at 7 PM for the Monster Truck Bash during the Cheyenne County Fair!

To honor the men and women who serve and protect our communities and our country, all military personnel, veterans, police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and other first responders will receive:

🎟️ FREE admission to the event
🥤 ONE free drink on us

Simply show your credentials at the ticket window or come dressed in uniform to claim your free ticket.

The Cheyenne County Veterans Service Office is looking for dedicated volunteers to drive our DAV van, transporting area veterans to the Cheyenne VA Medical Center. Just a couple of days a month can make a huge difference. We work with your availability and provide your schedule months in advance making it easy to plan around your commitments.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back to those who served, we’d love to have you on board.
