The Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library invite you to join us this Sunday, February 22nd at 2:00pm at the library for the final week of our February International Film Festival

Popcorn and water provided

The Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library invite you to join us this Sunday, February 15th at 2:00pm at the library for the third week of our February International Film Festival. Popcorn and water provided.

2024, Portuguese (Brazil) with English Subtitles, PG-13, 136 minutes. Winner of Academy Awards Best International Feature. A biographical drama about a wife fighting for the truth of her husband’s forcible disappearance by the military dictatorship in 1970s Rio de Janeiro.

As a special bonus, this movie will be the focus of the next Film Discussion Club on March 3rd at 7pm at the Library. Join us to talk about it!

Join us tomorrow, Sunday, February 1st at 2:00pm at the library to view the first film in our February International Film Festival. A 2015 movie from Japan with English Subtitles, Rated PG, Japan Academy Prize for Picture of the Year, 127 minutes. The film follows three sisters living in their ancestral home in Kamakura. When they invite their shy teenage half-sister to live with them following their father’s death an unconventional family is formed and the film follows them as they navigate life over a year.
