🗣️ We Want to Hear From You!
The Form of Government Study Committee has spent the past few months researching various forms of municipal government and now we want to hear from you in our outreach survey!

This outreach survey is aimed at finding what you, as the residents of the Town, find works well and what does not work well in regards to our Representative Town Meeting-Town Manager-Select Board form of government. We are reviewing our form of government to better understand how well it serves our town of nearly 40,000 people. Your feedback will help the Form of Government Study (FOGS) Committee make recommendations for potential Charter updates.

Your input is critical to the Committee’s work and we look forward to seeing your responses to our survey!

Thank you to everyone who came out to donate blood at the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center blood drive last Friday, June 12th!

Our generous donors contributed an incredible 31 pints of blood throughout the event! With blood banks around the country facing persistent shortages of life-saving blood for transfusions, surgeries, and more, these donations are more important than ever. A tremendous thank you to all the everyday heroes who rolled up their sleeves to give back and help save lives in our community!

Every two seconds, someone in the United States is in need of a blood donation. Through the generosity of volunteer donors such as these, patients in need of everything from surgery to critical treatments can get the care they need. If you are considering rolling up your sleeves in the future, be sure to talk with your healthcare provider to ensure you are eligible. Every donation makes a massive difference in someone else’s life, so please consider giving if you are willing and able!

A big thank you again to all the incredible donors! ❤️🩸

🛣️CLOSING THE GAP - North Quinsigamond Avenue Complete Streets Project Completed!
This week, the North Quinsigamond Ave Complete Streets Project was officially completed, connecting sidewalks to the north and south to create a continuous stretch of walkability on this major North-South route in town.

🚶‍♂️ 3,500 LINEAR FEET OF NEW SIDEWALK: This new stretch of sidewalk connects existing sidewalks to the north and south, forming a continuous walking network on the street.
🚴‍♀️ 1 MILE NEW BIKE LANE: A new bike lane stretching a full mile has been added adjacent to the sidewalk, giving cyclists their own designated space on the road.
♿ 10 WHEELCHAIR RAMP REPLACEMENTS: Ten wheelchair ramps were replaced to improve accessibility, ensuring all in our community can navigate with ease.
🚶‍♂️ 2 NEW CROSSWALKS: Upgraded pedestrian crossings have been added to ensure neighbors can safely cross the street.

These improvements were entirely funded by the state through MassDOT’s Complete Streets Program, which provides funding for roadway improvements that include additional methods of travel such as the sidewalks and bike lanes included in this project. Thanks to this program, our town has greater walkability and improved pedestrian safety with zero impact to our local town budget!

‼️ Please see the below message from the Shrewsbury Recreation Department regarding the cancellation of tonight’s Summer Concert:

We know tonight's forecast is a bit of a 50/50 call, but out of respect for the time and preparation required by our band and vendors, and to help keep everyone safe, we've made the decision to cancel tonight's Summer Concert Series performance featuring Carolyn Rae & the Rumors.

We appreciate your understanding and are working with everyone to reschedule the show for a later date in August. In the meantime, we hope you'll join us next Thursday, June 25 at 6:00 PM at the Dean Park Bandstand as we kick off the season with Catnip Junkies and food trucks. We're keeping our fingers crossed for beautiful weather and look forward to seeing you there!

🏘️ SHAPE THE FUTURE OF SHREWSBURY’S COMMERCIAL CORRIDORS
Town Meeting approved a temporary, 24-month pause on new mixed-use permits within the Lakeway (Route 9) and Route 20 Overlay districts so that the Town can study infrastructure needs and update our regulations to match today’s community goals.

A key part of this moratorium is public engagement, and getting your input on what you want to see for the future of these corridors. Your voice is key to shaping what the updated bylaw will focus on for these districts. To engage the community, the Planning and Economic Development Department invites you to join us for a Community Forum to discuss this moratorium and craft the vision for the future of Shrewsbury.
