In Baton Rouge earlier today for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry - LABI Workers’ Comp Conference, where I joined Emily Chenevert for State Representative - District 66 and Labor and Industrial Relations Committee Chairman Rep. Raymond Cruz for a great discussion on how a bill makes its way through the legislative process.

Workers’ comp policy directly shapes how Louisiana businesses hire, retain, and protect their workforce, so getting the process right is crucial in ensuring a good policy is made.

During the 2026 Regular Legislative Session, I brought forward SB102, now ACT 458, to empower Louisiana’s dealer associations to address challenges, protect their businesses, and advocate for the people and communities they represent. This new law took effect on May 29, strengthening Louisiana’s auto industry and supporting the businesses and jobs that keep communities across our state moving in the right direction!

“SB 102 is a strong pro-business bill that gives LADA an important additional tool to protect the interests of Louisiana’s franchised automobile dealers—job creators and community leaders. We appreciate Sen. Pressly’s leadership and his commitment to Louisiana’s business community.”

-Coulter McMahen, President, CEO of Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association (LADA)

North Louisiana just scored a major win — today we announced that Shreveport-Bossier will host the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s and women’s basketball championships for the next three years beginning this February! 🏀

This brings student-athletes, families and fans to North Louisiana and highlights what sports tourism can do for our region — economic activity, new experiences for local families, and proof of what our area can host.

I was proud to advocate for this opportunity, and grateful to state and local leaders, the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and community partners for making it happen. Congrats to everyone who helped make today’s announcement possible!

More great economic news for our region of the state! Well done, Cyber Innovation Center!

A decade of partnership with Louisiana has delivered $358 million in annual economic impact, and we are deepening that commitment for the next decade. GDIT signed a new, long-term lease agreement with Cyber Innovation Center for our Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City, creating more high-wage technology jobs and a stronger talent pipeline for local communities.

Great news for Northwest Louisiana! I’m excited about the additional jobs, infrastructure investments, and opportunities for this region. Thank you to North Louisiana Economic Partnership for their hard work on this project. The future is bright!

Amazon and STACK INFRASTRUCTURE are expanding their commitment to Northwest Louisiana, bringing its total planned data center investment in the region to $18 billion.

The newly announced $6 billion Shreveport campus means more jobs, more construction activity and more opportunities for businesses and workers across our region.

This morning I joined the family and friends of Hayden Lane Mangum, along with fellow co-authors Adam Bass for State Senate District 36 and Dennis Bamburg, Louisiana House Dist 5, for a special gathering at Calvary Baptist Academy fieldhouse in Shreveport. We announced the naming of a stretch of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop as the Hayden Lane Mangum Memorial Highway, a lasting tribute to Lane's memory.

It was an honor to carry this legislation through this past session, SB 460, now Act 218.

I had a great day in Logansport celebrating the ribbon cutting of the new Logansport Chamber of Commerce building. This is more than a new building—it represents the growth, investment, and strong spirit of the Logansport community and its business leaders. I’m proud to support efforts that strengthen Northwest Louisiana and create new opportunities for our communities. Congratulations to the Logansport Chamber of Commerce on this exciting milestone!
