As we celebrate the 50th Red River Revel, I was proud to secure a $50,000 appropriation from the state for this year’s festival. The Red River Revel enhances the quality of life for our region by bringing people together through art, music, food and culture to showcase the very best of Northwest Louisiana. I’m excited to join thousands of visitors to this year’s festival in celebration of 50 years of the Red River Revel and look forward to the wonderful event continuing for generations to come!

Busy morning today at the Capitol! We kicked things off reviewing higher education funding, because strong colleges and universities give our students the opportunity to build their futures right here in Louisiana. Then it was on to Health and Welfare to discuss DCFS workforce and caseloads, along with the background check standards for those providing care across our state. Our families and children deserve to know they’re in good hands.

Always proud to represent Northwest Louisiana and advocate for our region down in Baton Rouge.

Justice is not content, and it should never be measured in views.

The horrific attack at Fort Hood deserves justice, and the victims and their families deserve to never be forgotten. But justice cannot become a spectacle. Staged public ex*****ons come from the playbook of oppressive dictatorships.

America must stand apart from the brutality of ISIS and al-Qaeda, not imitate their tactics by turning an ex*****on into public entertainment. If we are to remain a "shining city upon a hill," we must hold true to the principles that distinguish us.

Let’s call off the broadcast. Victims deserve justice, not a livestream.

Today, we solemnly remember the innocent lives lost on October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists carried out their horrific attack on Israel.

We honor their memory and continue to pray for their families and for the hostages who were taken.

Three years ago, I was proud to stand with our community at the North Louisiana Jewish Federation's Community Solidarity Gathering for Israel. I stand with Israel just as firmly today.

This evening I was proud to stand with fellow leaders in our community and people of faith in solidarity with the Jewish people as we prayed for Israel and all Jewish communities tonight.

The evils of this world must be defeated and Israel has every right to defend itself against the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and all involved in the unprecedented attack that took place on Saturday. I am proud to stand united with Israel in this fight.

Shalom Rav:
Grant abundant peace unto Israel your people for ever; For you are the sovereign,Eternal G-d, of all peace; and may it be good in your sight to bless your people Israel at all times and in every hour with your peace.

Thank you to the North Louisiana Jewish Federation for hosting the Community Solidarity Gathering for Israel.

I’m honored to be recognized by Geaux Far Louisiana as a Legislative Champion for my efforts to prioritize state matching funds for local government and private funding of early childhood education.

Prioritizing quality early childhood education ensures our youngest citizens have the skills they need to be kindergarten ready while providing their parents the opportunity to thrive in today’s workforce. This effort is a win-win for Louisiana of today and tomorrow.

Maggie and I enjoyed continuing America’s 250 celebration at the barbecue with the Eighth Air Force this evening. Barksdale Air Force Base is an incredible asset to our community, our state, and our country.🇺🇸
