🚨 The 2026 ALICE Report is here! 🚨

You see ALICE every day β€” but you might not know it.

ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) represents hardworking individuals and families who earn above the Federal Poverty Level, but still struggle to afford essentials like housing, childcare, food, transportation, and healthcare.

ALICE cares for children, checks out groceries, cooks meals, and helps meet everyday needs in communities across Northwest Louisiana. They are our neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family members.

The newly released 2026 ALICE Report provides a closer look at the financial challenges facing households across Louisiana and right here in Northwest Louisiana.

Because when we understand the realities facing ALICE families, we can mobilize communities to action so all can thrive.

Through conversations about budgeting, saving, and making thoughtful financial decisions, participants gained valuable knowledge to help them build a stronger financial future.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share financial education and support individuals as they develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve long-term financial stability.

United Way of Northwest Louisiana President & CEO LaToria W. Thomas and Board Chair Paige Lasyone joined fellow United Way leaders in Washington, D.C. for the United Way Worldwide Advocacy Forum and Capitol Hill Day. πŸ’›

Alongside the Louisiana Association of United Ways and partners across the state, we advocated for the HELP Act (H.R. 8520), a bipartisan bill focused on strengthening 211 services and helping connect individuals and families to critical local resources.

We are grateful to our congressional leadership for taking the time to meet with United Way leaders and discuss the importance of supporting communities across Louisiana and beyond.

Advocacy is an important part of building stronger, more resilient communities, and we’re proud to help ensure the needs of Northwest Louisiana are represented at the national level.

Celebrating our 2025 Piece of the Course winners! β›³πŸ’›

Through the 2025 United Way campaign, schools across Caddo and Bossier came together to make an impact β€” and six outstanding schools earned a special reward to keep the fun going!

Three schools from Caddo Parish Public Schools and three schools from Bossier Schools received 1–2 pieces of our portable 9-hole golf course to use for field days, teacher appreciation events, celebrations, and more.

Schools earned their Piece of the Course by raising the most funds, increasing participation, or growing their campaign impact during the 2025 United Way campaign.

Thank you to every school, educator, staff member, and supporter who helped make a difference!
