A huge thank you to Girl Scouts of Louisiana - Pines to the Gulf for their generous donation of Girl Scout Cookies!

These sweet treats will bring plenty of smiles to the men, women, and children we serve each day. Simple acts of kindness like this remind our guests that they are seen, valued, and cared for by their community.

Thank you, Girl Scouts, for partnering with us to bring hope, encouragement, and care to our neighbors in need. YOU are changing our cities one life at a time!

Another Lunch and Learn is in the books!

We were grateful to spend time with our friends from the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and the LACG Louisiana Association on Compulsive Gambling.

This Lunch and Learn provided us with a great opportunity to learn more about each other's organization, the services we provide, and the unique challenges facing the people we serve. Most importantly, it helps us build stronger partnerships so that men and women in crisis can be connected to the right resources at the right time.

No one organization can meet every need, but when we work together, we can help ensure that individuals and families receive the support, care, and hope they need to move forward. Thank you 988 and LACG for meeting with us and for the important work you do to support to people in crisis in our cities.

If your group or organization is interested in scheduling a Lunch and Learn with the Mission, we would love to connect with you! Email our team at [email protected] to learn more.

Today, our hearts are with the families who lost their loved ones in the tragic B-52 crash at Edwards Air Force Base.

As a ministry that serves the community surrounding Barksdale Air Force Base, this loss feels especially close to home. We know that behind every airman are families, friends, and communities who love them deeply, and our hearts ache for all those who are grieving today. Please join us in lifting these families up in prayer.

More than just serving a meal, your team helped our guests feel seen, valued, and loved. For many of the men and women we serve, this may be the first time they've experienced love and kindness without strings attached. Simple acts of compassion can make a lasting impact, and we're grateful you chose to share yours with our guests.

✨Victory✨

We had a special visitor stop by the Mission today!

Janessa came by to say hello and let us know how she's doing, and it was such a blessing to see her smiling face. She shared that she misses the Mission family and wanted everyone to know she is doing well.

Right now, Janessa is waiting to hear back about her acceptance into Job Corps, where she plans to pursue her CNA licensure and continue building a brighter future for herself.

We are so proud of the hard work Janessa is putting into her next chapter and can't wait to see all that God has in store for her. Join us in praying for favor and open doors as she takes this exciting step toward her goals!

Some gifts leave a lasting impact far beyond what we can see.

For many years, Rev. Barry Joffrion faithfully served on the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission's Board of Directors and carried a deep love for this ministry and the people we serve. Even after his passing, his legacy continues to bless our guests.

Rev. Barry's widow, Ms. Valerie, has generously donated many of Rev. Barry's clothes and personal belongings to help meet the needs of the guests in our programs. In addition, gifts made in his memory support the life-changing work taking place at the Mission.

Recently, Ms. Valerie presented Pastor Larry with a bracelet that belonged to Rev. Barry as a special token of appreciation for the Kingdom work being done through the Mission and as a way to honor Rev. Barry's years of service and dedication.

Ms. Valerie, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and the love you continue to show our ministry. We are grateful for the legacy of faith and service that you and Rev. Barry have planted in our cities.
