The Mission Possible 5/10K & Fun Run has never been just about running a race or crossing a finish line. It’s about our community rallying around men, women, and children who are working to overcome homelessness, addiction, poverty, and crisis.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day and today, we remember the lives lost to overdose, pray for the families carrying the weight of that loss, and stand in hope with those still fighting for freedom.

At the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission, we see firsthand the devastating impact addiction can have on individuals and families. But we also see something greater: the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.

Through our Christ-centered Life Recovery Program, men and women are breaking free from addiction, rebuilding relationships, restoring families, and discovering the hope and purpose God has for their lives.

Addiction does not have to have the final word. Jesus does.

Recovery is possible. Healing is possible. A new life is possible.

LOOK AT GOD! Ms. Sandra is thriving!

Our team recently had the opportunity to visit with Ms. Sandra at the nursing home, and we are so excited to share that she is doing well and getting stronger!

But the good news doesn’t stop there—Ms. Sandra is now making plans to move into her very own apartment soon!

What a blessing it is to see how far she has come. From needing additional care and support to now preparing for this next step toward greater independence, God has been faithful through every part of her journey.

Ms. Sandra, your Mission Family is so proud of you! We’re celebrating this new chapter with you and praying for all God has ahead.
