At the Caddo Sheriff's Office, we are proud to recognize the dedication and compassion our deputies show every day.

Recently, Deputy Schubert went above and beyond the call of duty while assisting at the scene of a traffic crash. During a difficult and emotional situation, she took the time to comfort and console a citizen involved in the accident, demonstrating the care and professionalism that exemplify public service.

Law enforcement is about more than responding to calls—it is about serving people and supporting our community during some of their most challenging moments.

Thank you, Deputy Schubert, for your compassion, dedication, and commitment to the citizens of Caddo Parish. Your actions reflect the very best of the Caddo Sheriff's Office, and we are proud to have you on our team.

Free Youth Diversion Program Offers Positive Path for Teens
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is inviting parents and guardians to bring their pre-teens and teens to a free youth diversion program designed to help young people make positive choices.
A free youth diversion class, C.H.O.I.C.E. (Choosing Healthy Options Instead of Criminal Engagement), will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Relations and Crime Prevention Office, located at 1501 Corporate Drive in Shreveport.
The program is geared toward youth who may be facing challenges related to peer pressure, behavioral issues, substance abuse, gun violence, or other factors that can place them at risk. Through education, discussion, and mentorship, teens will learn strategies for making responsible decisions, developing positive relationships, and avoiding behaviors that can lead to involvement in the criminal justice system.
Parents and guardians who believe their child could benefit from the program are encouraged to sign them up for the class. For additional information, contact Deputy Vernita Williams at 318-681-0869.

CPSO to join Click It or Ticket National Mobilization

The Caddo Sheriff's Office will take part in a statewide seat belt enforcement campaign designed to educate drivers and passengers about the importance of wearing seat belts. This campaign will run from May 19 to June 1 and is funded by a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.

Caddo deputies will engage in high-visibility enforcement to raise awareness of seat belt usage and laws, aiming to reduce injuries and fatalities on the road. They will join other law enforcement officers across the state in monitoring for unrestrained drivers and passengers.

Seat belts are proven to be one of the most effective ways to save lives in a crash. Failing to wear a seat belt can influence young people to adopt the dangerous habit of not buckling up. The "Click It or Ticket" campaign emphasizes safety, education, strong laws, and law enforcement support to save lives.

Caddo Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. awarded a $1,000 academic scholarship to Camryn Stewart this morning during a presentation at Government Plaza.

Camryn is a graduating senior at C.E. Byrd High School, where she has achieved a remarkable 4.7 grade point average. She plans to use the scholarship to pursue a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Camryn is the daughter of Rodney Stewart and Latoria Grant from Shreveport.

She was selected for the Caddo scholarship based on her academic achievements, leadership skills, and strong character. While at C.E. Byrd, Camryn was a Varsity Cheerleader in her 11th and 12th grades and participated in various clubs, including Mu Alpha Theta during her 11th and 12th grades, the African Studies Club in her 9th and 12th grades, and H.O.S.A. in her 11th and 12th grades. Additionally, she served as a summer counselor for V.O.A. in her 11th grade and has received numerous other academic accolades.

Sheriff's scholarships are funded through the Louisiana Sheriffs' Honorary Membership Program (LSHMP), which enables Louisiana sheriffs to provide scholarships to graduating high school students from each parish where they are affiliated with the program.
