After more than 90 years of manufacturing in Shreveport, Frymaster continues to grow its footprint right here in North Louisiana.

The company is investing $11.5 million to expand its Caddo Parish operations, adding 300,000 square feet of capacity and creating 113 potential new job opportunities in Northwest Louisiana.

This is a great example of a longtime North Louisiana employer continuing to invest in its people, operations and future right here at home.

A critical piece of America’s defense supply chain is being produced right here in North Louisiana.

Voyager Technologies’ GOEX Industries facility at Camp Minden is back in production, serving as the nation’s only domestic source of black powder, a critical material used across dozens of U.S. military munitions.

With significant modernization and expanded production capabilities, the facility is strengthening America’s defense industrial base while reinforcing North Louisiana’s role in advanced manufacturing and national security.

NLEP was proud to join economic development leaders from across the state in Lafayette this week for the 2026 Louisiana Economic Alliance for Development-LEAD Annual Economic Development Summit.

This year’s conversations focused on what it takes to build a future-ready Louisiana, from policy and partnerships to developing the talent our state needs to compete.

LEAD plays an important role in connecting and strengthening Louisiana’s economic development community, and it’s an organization we’re proud to support.

Look closely at the façade of Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College - NLTCC Shreveport campus, because it will look very different inside and out within the coming year. At the 90th anniversary celebration of the school’s founding last week, Chancellor Spillers announced $30 million in funding from the State of Louisiana and corporate partners to dramatically update and upgrade the campus. NLTCC is a great partner in support of our work and we celebrate this exciting news with them!

The impact of new investment in Northwest Louisiana is already reaching beyond the data center sites.

Sci-Port Discovery Center has received a $30,000 grant to create sensory-friendly upgrades that will make the center more accessible and welcoming for children and families.

The funding is part of the community investment connected to Amazon and STACK Infrastructure’s growing presence in Northwest Louisiana, one of many local projects receiving support as this development moves forward.

This is economic development at work in the community.

TOMORROW: Amazon Data Center Open House!

Join Amazon tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25, from 4–8 PM at the Shreveport Convention Center to learn more about the data center projects underway in Caddo and Bossier Parishes.

The open house is a drop-in event, giving community members the opportunity to talk directly with project representatives, ask questions and learn more about the investment and work taking place across Northwest Louisiana.
