With the month of May officially behind us, it's important to note the closing of North Louisiana's historic .

On May 30, owner/operator and civil rights trailblazer Carolyn Jones officially closed the doors of the landmark.

Moving forward, Ms. Jones will continue to , write and share the legacy of Modern Beauty Shop, its role in Louisiana histoy, and the remarkable women that founded it.

Historic Tour Celebrating Women's History & Voter Rights to Partner with Library System

March 8, 2020

Shreveport, LA - Hosted by local civil rights trailblazer and cosmetologist Carolyn Jones, the & the Ballot Box Tour series, is the only recognized cultural attraction in the state of Louisiana that honors the essential contributions of African American Cosmetologists in the Rights movement.

In celebration of Women's History Month and in recognition of this year's inspired theme, "Valiant Women of the Vote"; we are honored to officially launch the & the Ballot Box Tour.

Audiences will enjoy an engaging , view artifacts and experience original inspired by the Beauty & the Ballot Box theme.
