As many of you are aware, firefighters and emergency personnel are actively working a significant fire incident in the Gooding/Jerome area. While the fire is outside of Lincoln County, its proximity is a reminder of how quickly situations can develop across our region.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is monitoring the situation and remains in communication with our local and regional partners. At this time, there is no threat to Lincoln County.

For those traveling please use extra caution on Highway 93. Smoke, emergency vehicles, changing traffic patterns, and increased public safety activity in the area may impact travel conditions. Please slow down, stay alert, and give emergency responders plenty of room to work safely.

We are grateful for the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, dispatchers, and all emergency responders working tirelessly to protect lives and property.

Please keep those affected and the first responders battling this fire in your thoughts.

What is the Ready, Set, Go! Program? RSG! is a comprehensive program that assists wildland and WUI fire departments in their community outreach, engagement, and risk reduction efforts. This is a program that our county participates in, and Wildland fire season is upon us!
Lincoln County has recently declared an Emergency Disaster Declaration for Drought Conditions along with our Governor covering the State of Idaho.
While our county is at risk, please take some time to look over these resources! Agricultural properties that border non-urban areas often have unique challenges, making them more difficult to protect from a wildland fire.
This Ready, Set, Go! Program Farmers & Ranchers brochure is designed to help you better understand wildland fire mitigation efforts to best protect your household, livestock, and livelihood. Wildland fire is becoming a year-round reality. Many of the areas at greatest risk could be your ranch or farm property. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our local Fire Districts if you have any questions. These brochures are offered both in English and Spanish.
