I didn't run for Town Council because I was angry or to make sweeping changes or for any personal gain. When asked the question during our Meet the Candidates night, my answer was and still is this.
When so many changes were happening at the national level at the beginning of the year, I found myself wondering what I could do to help alleviate some of the effects that might trickle down to the local level. I didn't want to make phone calls or send emails as that just didn't seem productive. I learned that there was an election coming up with two open seats and I thought to myself, "THIS is where I can put my energy. THIS is where I can try to make sure our little corner of the world is still community."
Folks, I think we do a lot right around here and I want to see that continue. I also think our town has potential. We can be better and safer and we can grow and we can create more opportunities and we can work together. My first job is to learn how we "tick" and from there I hope to bring us even closer as a TOWN, not just the sum of all our parts.
Let's talk local. Share your thoughts on what you think we do well and what you think we could do better.
For those asking, no, results aren't official yet and won't be until after Thanksgiving. Thank you to everyone who got out and voted for me! I appreciate you!

What qualifications do I have for being a town representative?

*I've been a lifelong resident of the Town of Manchester.

*I've been active in my community in various ways from team mom in my children's sports, chamber board member, organizing events that benefit our community, and more!

*My work experiences include monitoring appropriate spending in federal grant funded programs, coordinating services for people in need, assisting unemployed individuals in securing employment or training, assisting with grant writing, working with and for youth and adults with disabilities, ensuring recipients of public assistance are following work and literacy requirements, and more!

*I'm available and happy to meet with and listen to you! I'm not coming into this with preconceived notions of big changes. We do a lot right in our town and I hope to help us build on our strengths!

*Last but not least, balance. A good board should have diversity of experiences and views to help balance what is done with the budget we have. Managing a budget and providing for our community is a balancing act and tough decisions sometimes need to be made. I'm prepared to accept that challenge for you.
