And this is how we know summer at South Lake Minnetonka has arrived, starting the season off with the Minnewashta Carnival! It was year 2 of Sam being in the dunk tank & as he said earlier tonight, tradition! Soooo, until next year for that! It also wouldn’t be normal if our staff didn’t grab some food truck food! We hope all had a wonderful night, school year & as always a fun filled summer! .elementary

Our wordiest newsletter in a long time, but as the weather has warmed & people have been coming into our area, we wanted to put out information that the City of Excelsior had put out regarding the parking updates. Also, you can see that SLMPD has remained busy & that’s only for the month of April! Here’s to an amazing Spring & Summer ahead!

🖤💙🖤This week has been National Law Enforcement Week, with today being Peace Officers Memorial Day, our hearts go out to all those who have lost a loved one in the line of duty…it is the ultimate sacrifice, a debt that can never be repaid, but we will continue to serve & honor those who have served before us & will serve after us… To our very own Sergeant Scharf, we thank you for being part of the LEMA Honor Guard & representing our department every day, but especially over the last 24 hours…it was absolutely amazing & humbling to see all the agencies represented from across the state! 🖤💙🖤

Hard to believe that it’s been a year since our last MADD gathering with law enforcement agencies from around Minnesota! So blessed to be able to recognize officers from all over for their dedication in taking impaired drivers off the road! Shoutout to our team for all that they do!

The weather is getting nicer, peoples’ schedules are getting busier & with that sometimes we (yes, our staff included) forget to close those garage doors behind us. Sergeant Robertson is here to talk a lil about what our patrol do & maybe some of you have seen these yellow hangers before but to those of you who haven’t…here ya go! Again, the last thing we want is for someone to take items out of your garage, so please be diligent at checking that the door has closed when you leave your home or before retiring for the night! 🏡
