Before y’all watch the Packers/Vikings game this afternoon, quick recap of the end of Summer at South Lake! Once again, too many thank yous to go around, but just want all our communities to know how thankful we are to work where we do! As much as we don’t like summer to fly by, our communities make summer fun! We hope all had a great first week of school and we will be looking forward to seeing you at Apple Days this upcoming weekend and then don’t miss our Open House on October 1st! Is it go Vikings 💜 or go Packers 💚?? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

❤️🤍💙 25 years ago…most of us, if not all of us over the age of 30 (even maybe some of those that were in their upper 20s) can remember the day when we looked at our tvs, not believing what we were seeing or turned on the radio, not believing what we were hearing…we remember where we were, who we were with, we remember what came after… but beyond all that we remember what it felt like to be a nation united… today we remember the nearly 3,000 lives that were lost; from the workers, to the passengers, to the first responders…we will never forget…🚒🚔🚑

Last concert selfie!?!?!?!?! 😳😭 Can’t be?!?! … Pshhh, pleaseeee…selfies for South Lake will always be a thing BUT it is hard to believe that Concerts in the Commons is complete until 2027! We hope that all enjoyed the wonderful weather, music & company last night! One more round of applause for Excelsior Morning Rotary & all that they did this year to make Concerts fantastic! 2026 Safety Camp was FULL! Sooooo many campers & sooooo much to learn/see! Also sooooo many thanks to be giving! City of Shorewood Park & Rec as well as Minnetonka Community Education for all their hard work with making this Safety Camp what it was! All their coordination with the different stations was awesome! BARK, Wright-Hennepin Electric, MN Operation Lifesaver, & Magician Brian Richards for coming out to educate our campers! To Excelsior Fire District, our partners in crime on Safety Camp day, we appreciate you! To our staff at SLMPD, Zach, Tess, Jake & Destiny - awesome work - To the 2 Mikes, thank you for arranging to get the MRAP down & last but not least… City of Plymouth, MN; Sgt, Coopet, Officer Nate & Reign; as always your K9 demo was fantastic! Lots of memories to be made yesterday, that’s for sure! Until Safety Camp 2027!!!

Naturally time has slipped away from me & I’m a lil late, BUT the time has come to register for our Citizens Academy! 6 Wednesday nights, starting September 30th, with SLMPD learning about different topics of law enforcement - DWI enforcement, Use of Force, Investigations, VR, Dispatch & Jail! Call our office at 952.474.3261 for more details! Cost is $75 per person to help pay for supplies and equipment. We look forward to having you join us & sign up quick as spots are limited!
