Construction on the new Lake Johanna Fire Department (LJFD) headquarters is nearly complete!

The new station, on Pine Tree Drive in Arden Hills, will serve as LJFD’s headquarters for Arden Hills, North Oaks, and Shoreview. As part of this transition, Station 140 on Victoria Street in Shoreview will close. Service levels and response coverage will remain unchanged with three stations continuing to serve the community.

The City of Shoreview has been exploring future uses for the Station 140 property and is now preparing to list it for sale. Potential ideas discussed have included recreation, arts and cultural space, a restaurant, or a business incubator, but no decisions have been made. The goal is to find a use that strengthens the community and supports our city's future.

Did you know that yard waste is a major source of pollution for our water bodies? πŸ’§

Leaves and grass are full of phosphorus, and when these materials wash down the storm drains and into water bodies, they lead to algal blooms, poor habitat, and bad odors.

Bring it to a yard waste site, compost it, mulch it back into your yard, and help keep our water clean!
