Hey Tigers! Every middle schooler will get a Chromebook this year and we want to make sure every family has internet access. Please take a minute to take this survey to help us plan!

Do you have a child who will be attending Shoreline Schools this year? If so, please take our Technology Needs Survey linked below.
During the 2020-2021 school year, the 1:1 computer take-home program will be extended to all middle and high school students. Families in our elementary and K-8 schools will be able to request computers for each student who needs one. Families with students in any grade can also request support for Internet access.
The Technology Needs Survey linked below is designed to provide us with the most up-to-date information for planning purposes and is not a formal request.
Please complete this survey by 5 pm on Tuesday, August 18. The process for getting a computer will be communicated by your school at a later date.
Please note that the first question is for families with students in any grade to answer and the last two questions are for families with students in elementary schools or Cascade K-8.

Today marks the 155th celebration of Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day. Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated each year on June 19 to commemorate the day that news of emancipation reached the deepest parts of the Confederacy in Galveston, Texas. On June 19, 1865, the Union army arrived in Galveston to announce that the Civil War had ended and all enslaved Black people were now free. This was more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation had become official on January 1, 1863. Today, Juneteenth is about celebrating Black history, freedom and achievement.

You can learn more about Juneteenth and its history at https://nmaahc.si.edu/blog-post/historical-legacy-juneteenth

While we honor and celebrate Juneteenth and what it embodies as a moment of cultural celebration and affirmation, today also compels us to continue working towards more inclusive, socially just and equitable communities.
