As of today, Grant Avery Park and Lester S. Davis Park are officially open for the season!

Due to a hard winter, we are still working on a plumbing issue at Grant Avery Park. The bathrooms are not yet open, but a porta potty is available.

Get out there, enjoy the beautiful weather, and take advantage of our parks! 🌳🌼

At last night's Town Board meeting, the Board approved a new three-year contract with Local 750-1 Council 66 (AFSCME), which represents our Highway Department employees. The agreement includes wage increases of 4% in 2026 and 3% in both 2027 and 2028, the addition of Juneteenth as a paid holiday, and a new longevity pay program recognizing long-term service.

The Board also welcomed seven new members to the newly formed Open Space Committee: Chet Karwatowski, Dianna Carchidi, Helen Chase, Kate McGloughlin, Cheryl Spada, Ellie Reese, and Thad Allender. We look forward to the important work ahead!

Supervisor Sofranko provided an update on the Shokan Sewer District: Clearing has begun in Grant Avery Park, and homeowners in the district who haven't yet returned their lateral agreements are encouraged to do so.

Finally, with warmer weather here, the Supervisor reminded residents that the new Boiceville Park on the former Stucki property is open and worth a visit. The Boiceville Planning Committee is working on a grant to fund signage and wild flower seeding.
