History

The Center Town Hall was built on the Shirley Common in 1847. Its exquisite Greek Revival architectural style makes it a very unique historical landmark in Shirley and lends itself as an important piece of the fabric of this community. A special feature of the building is the original “Swing Floor” in the large upstairs room. Designed for dancing it adds charm and character to any modern

day event. Among its many uses, the Center Town Hall has been the home to: Town Offices, a high school, the Post Office and has served as the Grange Hall. Rentals

The Center Town Hall is available to be rented for parties, weddings/receptions, etc. A one-day liquor license can be obtained by a request made to the Shirley Board of Selectmen.
