Shippenville Elk Twp. Volunteer Fire Department Shippenville VFD is a volunteer fire and rescue company located in Clarion County, in western pennsylvania

Shippenville VFD responds to all types of Fires, Vehicle accidents, Rescues (Rope, Confined Space, Water,Trench, and Ice), Traffic control, Flooding, Electrical emergencies, and we provide assistance to our Ambulance Service. In an average year we receive about 140 emergency calls and several service calls. We are the host company for the Clarion County Technical Rescue Team which consists of nearly 30 firefighters from several fire companies around the county.

🚨 TORNADO WARNING - CLARION COUNTY 🚨
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Tornado Warning for portions of Central Clarion County until 6:00 PM EDT.

At 5:32 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near the Rimersburg area and moving east at approximately 30 mph. Radar has indicated rotation within the storm.

⚠️ TAKE ACTION NOW ⚠️ If you are in the warned area: 🏠 Move to the lowest floor of a sturdy building. πŸšͺ Stay in an interior room away from windows and exterior walls. πŸ“± Monitor trusted weather sources and emergency alerts for updates. πŸš— Avoid unnecessary travel until the storm has passed.
Remember, tornadoes can develop quickly with little warning. Take all warnings seriously and be prepared to act immediately if conditions worsen.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for Clarion County until 9:00 PM this evening.

Conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing:🌩 Damaging winds🌩 Large hail🌩 Heavy rainfall🌩 Frequent lightning🌩 Isolated tornadoes

Now is a good time to review your severe weather plans, secure any loose outdoor items, and make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.

UPDATE: Roadway is opened back up to 2 lanes of travel at this time. At some point central electric will be working out there. So it may be down to one lane again.

Use caution in the area of 208 towards fryburg. Crews are out on a low hanging electric line with only one lane of travel available.
