Shidler Volunteer Fire And Ambulance Shidler Fire was started around 1925 the fire dept took over the ambulance in 1973. Today we have 14 firefighters 5 are national and state register EMTs.

Few pics from today’s mock accident at the school. Special thanks to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Osage County Sherriffs Office, Kaw City Fire, and Heartland Medical Direction, along with all our Shidler Fire volunteers and student volunteers for making today a success. Your local fire department spent the evening training! A soon to be torn down structure was utilized for breaching doors and windows, search, low light operations, and how to advance a hose line through a structure. Our new recruits also learned how to wear an SCBA, about water flow, and how the trucks operate. (Please note the structure was not burned during this training.)

It was a great night for our Stew/Chili Cook-off and live Auction! We had a good crowd to help judge (100 people!) There were 12 Chili entries and 3 Stew entries! Our donations for the night totaled $8027.00!!
Winners of the Stew competition were: Lindsay Thompson, 1st place; Butch Golay, 2nd place; Jodi Patton, 3rd place. Winners of the Chili competition were: Ryan Thompson, 1st place, Matt Ehrlich, 2nd place; Crystal Smith, 3rd place. Congratulations! We want to thank each individual that entered our stew/chili competition. We have a great turnout for this event and it’s always a fun evening!
We want to give a special thanks to Clifford and Vonda Cross for all their hard work getting auction items for us, and to John Eslick for being our auctioneer, he did a fantastic job!
Thank you to the businesses and individuals who donated for our auction, we couldn’t do this without you!
Most of all, thank you to everyone who continues to support our fundraisers! We couldn’t do it without YOU!!
