Spent a portion of my day at Pawnee . Mayor Alice Cottle hosted OML's Regional Advisory Council. So much information on House bills, procedure , and where our taxes are being used. Senator Chuck Hall and Rep.Dillon Travis were great speakers. Spending time with other City Managers from around Oklahoma helps Shidler find more resources .

We’re frustrated to share that our little course has been the victim of theft. Multiple sets of clubs, all of the night golf supplies, the tubs of Halloween decor, and cash from green fees.
These aren’t just “things” - they are the resources we have spent years collecting. Every decoration, every piece of equipment, and every dollar directly supports our events, our players, and the community we serve.
It may be awhile before we can scrape together a tournament but more importantly, this loss impacts the spirit of what we are trying to build.
If you have any info, someone selling clubs for cheap, or come across tubs of supplies/decor, please let us know.

Community Clean-Up Appreciation
Shidler would like to express sincere gratitude to everyone who received clean-up letters and took immediate action to clean their properties and respond to Officer Hughes. Your cooperation and dedication are greatly appreciated.
The results of your efforts are clearly visible throughout the community, with many homes now looking fantastic. The town appreciates the many residents who have kept open lines of communication with Mr. Hughes . He has proven to be an asset to our community and is committed to assisting residents.
Our primary goal is to enhance the town's cleanliness and create a better living environment for everyone. As a result of your actions, properties are being dismissed from the clean-up list and cases are being closed. Thank you again for your continued cooperation and commitment to making Shidler a better place to live.

The mock accident this week was quite impressive from our volunteer EMS . For a small community this is so valuable to have , we are proud of them. Thanks to all the OHP and Osage County Sheriff's officers that volunteered .

I began my employment in August 2023 and was informed that grant application would be a key component of my role. Although I was initially unfamiliar with grants, I soon recognized their importance for a small town with limited revenue. I am sharing these photographs because many of the grants we obtain result in improvements that residents may not notice daily. These acquisitions have a direct impact on each household: 3 generators ensure continued sewage drainage during power outages, water filtration systems provide clean water, and equipment supports proper maintenance throughout our community. Currently a road work grant has been approved for the north side of Highway 11.

We want to take a moment to address some misinformation that has recently come to our attention. The City of Shidler has hired an enforcement officer to help ensure our ordinances are followed, especially regarding property maintenance and clean-up. For years, we have sent letters to residents asking for help in improving their properties, and this step is meant to support a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming community.
We want to make it clear: the City is not looking to take anyone’s property. Our focus is on cooperation and community improvement—not on acquiring property. If you are interested in selling your property, we are happy to assist you in finding an interested buyer who may want to rent or remodel. Bringing in new residents and revitalizing our neighborhoods is in everyone's best interest, and we want Shidler to be a place people are proud to call home.
